EPIC (Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials)?
It’s a service of Intealth. Just as the name says, it’s an electronic portfolio of your credentials.
So, Intealth has a contact with all over the world with med school. And many councils, such as New Zealand's and Australia's, use this EPIC service to verify the credentials of international students.
You create an account in Intealth and register for EPIC, and then you have to upload your medical diploma and transcript—then ECFMG will verify it with your issuing med school. If it’s verified that this document is authentic, then they will create a portfolio of your credentials (just like a portfolio of your shares in trading).
Now you can send this verified credential to any organization through the EPIC service in Intealth. Those verified credentials sent by ECMG are only considered as your proof of international medical education by those councils, such as Australia, New Zealand, and many more.
Do we need to create an EPIC account for ECFMG certification?
No. You don't need an EPIC account for ECFMG certificate verification. Your credentials for ECFMG certification were verified as part of the certification requirement.
What about EPIC for people who are already ECFMG certified or credential verified?
Let’s say you have already verified your medical education credentials as part of the ECFMG certification process (refer to my article on the pathway), and now you are planning to pursue a different pathway that requires you to send your credentials.
You have to create an account by paying $35, but the good part is your already verified credential as part of ECGMF certification will be available to your EPIC account at no cost in just one day.
Then you can send your EPIC report to the authority you are applying to.
Thank you!
