Let me tell you some important things about NJ Transit passes.

There are many types of transportation that come under the umbrella of NJ Transit such as light rail, trains and buses.

I have used only NJ Transit trains and buses.

Let me tell you something: there are monthly passes for NJ Transit buses, which will work only between the stations you declared at the time of purchase. Let’s say I buy a pass from Newark Penn Station to Elizabeth Station, which costs me $96; it will work for a month only between those stations on the NJ Transit train.

But this pass gives you a free ride on an NJ Transit bus in up to one zone.

So, just buy an NJ Transit monthly pass, and it should work on buses too.

Do not buy an NJ Transit bus pass; it will not work on the NJ Transit train. So then you have to buy passes for both trains and buses.
